One-on-One Games
Single Games: This is the standard style of competition where games are played independently. The losing player pays the winner the agreed initial stake multiplied by the value of the doubling cube and the win type (2 points for a gammon or 3 points for a backgammon).
We deduct rake from the final amount won (where the winner pays for both players).
| Win |
Rake |
| Up to $20 |
4.9% per player (9.8% together) |
| $20 to $100 |
3.9% per player (7.8% together) |
| Over $100 |
2.9% per player (5.8% together) |
Example: Betty and John play a single game with initial stake of $5. Betty wins by a gammon (double stake). Result: $9.02 will be added to Betty’s balance ($10 minus $0.98 rake), while John’s balance will have $10 deducted.
Series of Games: This consists of a number of games played between two players. It ends when one player wins by accumulating the agreed number of points (Length). For each game, the number of points won is the doubling cube value multiplied by the win type (2 points for a gammon or 3 points for a backgammon)
We deduct rake from the stake sum as well as 0.25% for each additional point in a game over 1. Remember, the winner is paying both rakes.

| Over $100 |

Example: Simon and Mary play a series up to 3 points with a stake of $10. Simon wins the series by 3-1.
The rake for 3 points is calculated as follows: 3.9% (base rake) + 2 x 0.25% = 4.4%.Each player pays a rake of $10 x 4.4%= $0.44 ($0.88 together).
Result: $9.12 will be added to Simon's balance and Mary's balance will be deducted $10.
Our rake structure favors series’ between two players of similar ranking level. We take a maximum rake of $5 when both players are ranked over 1650 and reduce that rake by 50% if both players are ranked 1700. On the other hand, we increase our rakes by 15% if one of the players is ranked less than 1600.
